Another year has rocketed past. Another year disrupted by the impacts of the ongoing pandemic and one that has stretched us to new limits it seems!
As ever, within our assessor whānau you have risen to the challenge, and while we might not have met the lofty heights of 2021, you have demonstrated great grit. The team at Careerforce extends our heartfelt thanks for your ongoing efforts.
A year in numbers...
143 newly registered assessors within a family of 906 assessors.
563 folk met with us at various assessor hubs, Initial Assessor Training (IAT), and observer training hui (an increase of over 40% from last year).
We have prioritised building and extending our connections, our whanaungatanga, throughout 2022 with new initiatives such as Hono Mai, and our revamped Wananga Mātauranga (assessor hubs). We're always happy to connect and make new connections, and we'll be looking for ever more chances in 2023.
Our learners are making waves in so many different sectors:
Ahnaliyah Maas, a Hastings Girls' High School student, has completed the NZ Certificate in Youth Work Level 3 through Careerforce's Gateway programme.
68-year-old Alice Adair has shown it's never too late to chase your dreams, having successfully completed her Apprenticeship in Mental Health and Addiction Support.
Te Puke apprentice, Israel Hapi, is helping kids turn their lives around. The inspirational 20-year-old is a rangatahi support worker with kaupapa Māori provider Ngā Kākano and has completed his health and wellbeing apprenticeship.
We are looking forward to new opportunities that our transition into Te Pūkenga brings and wish to extend our greatest mihi to you as our assessor whānau, who make all of these things happen. Thank you all so very much - ngā mihi nui ki a koutou. You continue to nurture your learners and show manaakitanga; you draw us together to help celebrate their achievements - kotahitanga; and you ensure your learners' evidence are all kei te pai - kaitiakitanga.
All the very best for this upcoming holiday period. May the weather be exactly the way you want it, and you spend time with all those you love (and a few of the ones you might just about bear...).
