New last date of assessment for Health & Wellbeing Level 3 (version 1)

Kia ora

We are emailing you because you have learners enrolled in version 1 of the New Zealand Certificate in Health and Wellbeing Level 3, with strands in:
  • Health Assistance
  • Support Work
  • Orderly Services
  • Dental Assistance
  • Newborn Hearing Screening
  • Vision Hearing Screening (v1 & v2)

Previous communications advised that version 1 programmes were closing on
31 December 2023 and any remaining learners would be transferred into version 2 programmes.

Updated last date of assessment
  • NZQA has recently extended the last date for assessment for version 1 of our Health and Wellbeing Level 3 programmes.
  • This means that the last date Careerforce will accept assessments for marking is now 31 May 2024. After this date, remaining learners will be transferred into version 2 of their programme.
  • We are however continuing to encourage your learners to aim to complete their assessments by 1 November 2023, to allow time for marking and any resubmissions, and for completion by the end of this year.

Reminder: Expiring elective unit standard
There is also one elective unit standard that will still expire on 31 December 2023:

  • 28543 Describe culturally safe Māori operating principles and values, and their application in a health or wellbeing setting (in version 1, but not the version 2 programme)

There is no extension on this elective unit standard. Any learner who is partway through it, will need to have it completed before it expires on 31 December 2023.

We are advising your learners of their completion requirements and will encourage them to aim to submit their assessments by 1 November 2023.

If you have any questions, please talk to your Careerforce Workplace Advisor or contact us.
