Processing assessment results
Please remember, when completing an assessment, assessors must: - Mark submitted assessments within ten working days of the trainee handing them in and give feedback within 5 working days of completing an assessment of their work.
- Give feedback to the trainee before doing anything else;
- After this, complete the assessment results page, i.e. sign off and date the result;
- Enter the results in iportal (if this is not an Aka Toi assessment) within 5 days of the date on the assessment results page.
We would also like to remind you of our stance regarding submitting results.
This will ensure that trainees are active and will not have their Training Agreements terminated due to inactivity. Failure to report results in a timely way is an infringement of trainees' rights and has financial implications for some.

Academic misconduct among learners
Academic misconduct - When a learner presents assessment evidence that is not their own, gathered from another learner’s work, or from online resources (including generative AI), or from any other sources.
Careerforce has now developed an end to-end process to Reduce, Detect, and Manage academic misconduct.
This process is critical in upholding the integrity of our qualifications, and ensuring that employers have the confidence that their staff have genuinely demonstrated the requisite skills and competence.
For more information on academic misconduct for you and your learners, please view/download the one pager on our website here.
To learn more about managing academic misconduct, you can visit this page on our website here.
The Academic Misconduct Training - Workplace Assessors PowerPoint may be helpful and provide more guidance. This can be viewed here.

Changes to the Aka Toi Marker Table
On Monday 7 October, the Aka Toi team will be making a change to one of the reports on the marker table. From this date, the marked report will show two months of data rather than four.
This adjustment is designed to alleviate pressure on the marker table, which has faced increased demands due to the number of assessment tasks and ākonga now using the platform since the reports were introduced in 2019. By focusing on a shorter timeframe, we aim to enhance the performance and responsiveness of the system, ensuring a smoother experience for
assessors.
Please note that actual marked submissions are not being removed. They are still on Aka Toi and can be reviewed by navigating to the relevant module and opening the task.

Checking authenticity of certificates and qualifications
| Sadly, and closely connected with the academic misconduct story, we have had a few instances recently of Careerforce NZQA qualification certificates being forged.
We take any such fraudulent activity extremely seriously as it not only undermines the integrity of our training but also, most importantly, jeopardizes the care and support of some of our most vulnerable people. If you doubt the authenticity of a certificate or qualification that has been shared with you, you should investigate further. You can ask your staff member to log in to the NZQA website and access their official Record of Achievement.
